Nankana Sahib is one of the most historically and spiritually significant districts of Pakistan. Before becoming an independent district, Nankana Sahib was part of Sheikhupura District. Due to its unique religious importance and increasing international recognition, it was later granted the status of a separate district by the Government of Punjab.
